Based in Mansfield, Massachusetts, our business roots go back to 1870 in Scotland. Until 2013, we were the last manufacturer in the UK still making square cut, or antique nails, products in the traditional way using machines that have not changed markedly in 200 years ensuring our products retain the authentic look, feel and use of the original cut nails.
The Glasgow Boat Nail is a reproduction of a boat nail that used to be made by Mustadfors Bruk in Västra Götaland, Sweden. Used throughout Scandinavia for traditional boat building and restoration projects, also called an Oakwood Nail, Ekspik, or Timmerspik. Boat Nails have a long-tapered shank and a slightly rounded head. The original Swedish nails were made from square wire, these nails are sheered from sheets of steel. All of our Boat nails are hot-dipped galvanized for rust protection. Glasgow Steel Nails were originally produced in Scotland until being purchased in 2013 by Tremont Nail Company. Please note that Glasgow Steel Nails are now sold by pound. Larger quantities and self-color by request only, please contact our sales team for prices and lead times.
The Glasgow Cut Floor Brad is traditionally used in the UK and Ireland for tongue and grooved floors. The head can easily be punched through the surface of the wood for a tight grip and the design of the nail prevents the wood from splitting. Glasgow Steel Nails were originally produced in Scotland until being purchased in 2013 by Tremont Nail Company. Please note that Glasgow Steel Nails are now sold by pound. Larger quantities by request only, please contact our sales team for prices and lead times.
The Glasgow Furniture Brad is designed for use in antique furniture repair.
Often the antique furniture market attempts to use original brads removed from pieces of furniture that are beyond repair. Since these brads are manufactured in the same way as the original, authenticity is maintained and time spent looking for old nails is saved. There are approximately 3500 brads per pound.
Glasgow Steel Nails were originally produced in Scotland until being purchased in 2013 by Tremont Nail Company. Please note that Glasgow Steel Nails are now sold by pound. Larger quantities by request only, please contact our sales team for prices and lead times.

It is used in timber-to-timber fixings and also to fix timber to aerated concrete block. The nail is a traditional nail in Scandinavia where the it usually receives a color finish to match the color of items being fixed. Also, can be used for castings if a smaller fastener is required. Glasgow Steel Nails were originally produced in Scotland until being purchased in 2013 by Tremont Nail Company. Please note that Glasgow Steel Nails are now sold by pound.
