The Glasgow Boat Nail is a reproduction of a boat nail that used to be made by Mustadfors Bruk in Västra Götaland, Sweden. Used throughout Scandinavia for traditional boat building and restoration projects, also called an Oakwood Nail, Ekspik, or Timmerspik. Boat Nails have a long-tapered shank and a slightly rounded head. The original Swedish nails were made from square wire, these nails are sheered from sheets of steel. All of our Boat nails are hot-dipped galvanized for rust protection. Glasgow Steel Nails were originally produced in Scotland until being purchased in 2013 by Tremont Nail Company. Please note that Glasgow Steel Nails are now sold by pound. Larger quantities and self-color by request only, please contact our sales team for prices and lead times.
